San Diego Union Tribune Readers rate 4S Ranch® the Best New-Home Community for 2009

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (August 5, 2009) – San Diego Union Tribune readers have voted and 4S Ranch is San Diego’s Best New-Home Community for 2009. The winners of the Best of San Diego online Readers’ Poll 2009 were announced on Sunday, August 2. This is the second time 4S Ranch as been on the top 10 list since 2006 and the first time the new-home community has been rated No. 1. 

“4S Ranch has really become a true hometown in North County. It has great shopping, parks, trails and homes for all types of families. We’re so very pleased the readers of the San Diego Union Tribune have recognized 4S Ranch with this honor,” said Genelle Kunst, marketing manager for Newland Communities, the developer of 4S Ranch. 

In order of votes received, 4S Ranch topped the top 10 list of new-home communities in the County followed by:

3. Liberty Station
4. Eastlake
5. Otay Ranch
6. Del Sur
7. Winding Walk
8. Rolling Hills Ranch
9. Serenity
10. Mahogany

Located just off of the I-15, the new-home community of 4S Ranch has been under development for more than 10 years. 4S Ranch opened with new homes for sale in 2001 and since then 4S Ranch has grown into a vibrant community with parks, walking trails, a town center and about 3,800 homes with over 11,000 residents. New homes are currently for sale and under construction. It is planned that the community will have two new neighborhoods opening in early 2010. 

The Best of San Diego list came together after a nomination period from April 30 through May 17, 2009 where readers nominated and voted on their favorite San Diego places. Then from May 23 through June 7, 2009, readers voted from a list of 10 nominees for each category with the winners announced on August 2.  The San Diego’s Best poll gives Union Tribune readers the chance to decide the best places and events in America’s Finest City.
